Liquid slosh in a container (tank) or a water reservoir under dynamic loads like earthquake, maneuvering of the vehicle/aero-plane/ship containing liquid tank or other loadings causing slosh is an important topic for researchers across the globe. This group at PIEAS has worked on the study of sloshing dynamics in various geometries (tanks of various shapes, water reservoir) subjected to different loadings like earthquake, maneuvering of space vehicle and other loadings with varying degree of freedom. The group is also working on the development of experimental setup for slosh study.
